Abstract
Advanced glycation endproducts (AGEs) are a heterogeneous group of compounds formed nonenzymatically by glycation and oxidation of proteins. AGEs are suggested as one of the major agents in the pathogenesis and progression of diabetic-associated microvascular and macrovascular complications.
