Samenvatting
Bij plaatsing van een spiraal na de bevalling is er een kleine (< 1%) kans op een baarmoederperforatie. Uitstel van plaatsing van een spiraal tot zes maanden postpartum lijkt het risico daarop te verminderen. Daarom is het advies om samen met de patiënt een afweging te maken tussen het perforatierisico en het belang van betrouwbare anticonceptie.
