Gallbladder Volvulus

Abstract

Gallbladder volvulus or gallbladder torsion is an uncommon condition in which the gallbladder twists on its long axis leading to the compromise of its blood supply. Its incidence is more in elderly women. The diagnosis of gallbladder volvulus is usually difficult and is found intraoperatively. It can be treated safely with laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
