Abstract
We describe and illustrate Huberia misteriosa, a new species endemic to the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil. The new species can be recognized by the young branches and abaxial surface of the leaves covered with dendritic trichomes 0.5–1 mm long, hypanthium covered with stalked glands, sepals with the internal laminae broadly trapezoidal, with the apex truncate and shortly apiculate, and by the petals with an apiculate apex. We also provide taxonomic comments, comparisons with closely related species, information about distribution and photos of living and dry specimens.
Resumo
Neste trabalho é descrita e ilustrada Huberia misteriosa, uma nova espécie endêmica do estado do Espírito Santo, Brasil. A nova espécie pode ser reconhecida pelos ramos jovens e face abaxial das folhas cobertos por tricomas dendríticos 0.5–1 mm compr., hipanto coberto por glândulas pediceladas, sépalas com lâmina interna amplamente trapezoidal com ápice truncado e apiculado e pelas pétalas com ápice apiculado. São apresentados também comentários taxonômicos, comparação com espécies similares, informação sobre a distribuição geográfica e fotos do holótipo em exsicata e in situ.
