Abstract
Chest pain is one of the most common problems in ambulatory settings as well as in emergency rooms of hospitals. The so-called “Brustschmerz-Ambulanzen”, which is the German translation of “outpatient clinics for chest pain”, are the ambulatory correlates of clinical chest pain units. The Brustschmerz-Ambulanzen complement clinical chest pain units in establishing fast ambulatory triage pathways for patients with acute chest pain. This consensus paper describes the organisational structures and pathways for the establishment of Brustschmerz-Ambulanzen and their accreditation by the German Cardiac Society.
