Abstract

This article is a translation of Erik Gustaf Geijer’s article on slavery, published in Stockholm in 1845. Geijer writes: “Such was the world in which Christianity made its appearance with its doctrine: that all human beings were God’s children...” Of North America, he writes: “And on that soil the final battle of slavery and freedom within the Christian world is also likely to be fought.”
