Abstract
Physical activity is an important modality in the treatment of obesity. However, obesity is often associated with exercise intolerance. The aim of this didactic article is to clarify respiratory, cardiovascular, metabolic and musculoskeletal factors that contribute to exercise intolerance in obese individuals. Evaluation modalities will also be presented, in order to individualize adapted physical activities to this population.
