Instrument Provides Fatigue Test Controllability for High and Low Forces

The ElectroForce 3310, the newest addition to the TA Instruments ElectroForce load frame family, delivers 1 kN of force capacity with 25 mm of dynamic displacement.

Utilizing its patented, friction-free, electromagnetic linear motor, the 3310 provides the controllability needed to run a wide range of material characterization and fatigue testing protocols. Capable of running cyclic tests to 1000 N, controllability of the ElectroForce 3310 extends to much lower forces, controlling applied force to less than 1 N. The 3310 also uses its high accuracy displacement sensor, which provides a calibrated displacement accuracy of ±5 μm and a resolution of 1 nm.

Expanding the performance envelope of the 3310, the test instrument can also be integrated with a torsion actuator, which provides simultaneous axial-torsion loading. Alternatively, for static tests that require displacements that exceed 25 mm, the 3310 can...
