Article Provides Tips on Preparing for Deposition
An article of tips for managers and expert witnesses who may be called to give a deposition and possibly testify in court was recently published in INCAST, the International Magazine of the Investment Casting Institute(Volume XXI, Number 11). Described in detail in the article, the tips are:

Become familiar with the deposition process.

Review all of the pleadings in the case to find out the basis of litigation.

3.
Think before you speak; don’t interrupt the attorney.

4.
Admit if you don’t know or don’t remember the answer to a question.

5.
Answer the question that is asked.

6.
Try to keep your answers as short as possible.
-
7.
Maintain a calm, professional demeanor.
-
8.
Don’t argue with the attorneys.
-
9.
Ask for a break when you get tired or overwhelmed.

10.
You can rephrase some answers later. The deposition can be amended before it becomes final.
