Failure Analysis of a Jacking Oil Pump

  • S. J. Ghosh
Case History

Abstract

Some jacking oil pumps failed during operation at various thermal power plants. The failure process eliminated the use of fractography to identify the mode of fracture. Extensive tests were carried out on failed pumps, which showed that the failures were due to rubbing of the impellers
