Expectations and Experiences of the AECT Leadership Internship Program
Attendees at the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) Annual Convention frequently see several graduate students wearing distinct medals around their necks throughout the convention. These students are the honored recipients of one of several AECT Leadership Internships. While many attendees know about the interns, not everybody knows the expectations of the programs nor the experiences of the interns. This year the AECT Leadership Development Committee plans to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the program formalization. This article highlights various aspects of the prestigious AECT Leadership Internship Program to provide the AECT community a snippet of history and information on the program and hopefully inspire future candidates and leaders.
