Abstract
initriles react with bisphenols at 160 °C in ionic liquid (1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium heptachlorodialuminate) to give aromatic polyamides. The polymers obtained are completely soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid and, when heated, in amide-type solvents.
