N-(n-Alkyl)-N′-diphenylphosphorylureas as a new type of extractants for preconcentration of actinides and lanthanides

Abstract

N-(n-Alkyl)-N′-diphenylphosphorylureas Ph2P(O)NHC(O)NHC n H2n+1 (n = 6–10) were synthesized by the reaction of diphenylphosphoryl isocyanate with primary n-alkylamines C n H2n+1NH2. The products (especially N-diphenylphosphoryl-N′-n-octylurea) are efficient extractants capable of extracting actinides and lanthanides from nitric acid solutions with high distribution coefficients.
