Composition and properties of water-soluble products formed in the reaction of chitosan with Fe(III) in aqueous FeCl3 solutions

Abstract

The effect of preparation conditions on the composition and properties of products of Fe(III) reaction with chitosan was studied. The reaction was carried out by partial neutralization of moderately concentrated FeCl3 solutions with chitosan followed by precipitation in an organic precipitant.
