Summary
The hydrogenation of crotonaldehyde reaction in liquid phase over co-impregnated RhSn/SiO<Subscript>2</Subscript> catalysts with different Rh content and a constant bulk atomic ratio Sn/(Sn+Rh) = 0.25 has been studied. The effect of the reactant concentration and the surface properties on the selectivity in the mentioned reaction was investigated. The acid properties of the catalysts, mainly due to tin oxide species and intermetallic phases, played an important role in the activity and selectivity for the unsaturated alcohol.
