B.Mus (London), M.A. (Case Western Reserve University) and Ed.D in music education from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He is currently Professor of Music Education and Acting Dean of Research at the University of Transkei, South Africa. Africa Regional Coordinator, Comparative Music Educators’ Project of the MayDay Group and Assistant Editor/Chronicle Editor of the South African Journal of Musicology. He has 30 publications including a book, Sharing knowledge and experience: a profile of Kwabena Nketia, scholar and music educator (2002), two book chapters and articles in local and international journals.
