Yb–Er doped composite fiber with silicate clad and phosphate core prepared by stack-and-draw method

We report on a single-clad fiber with heavily Yb–Er-doped phosphate core and silicate clad. The calculated core NA is ~0.11. The diffusion is slight between the core and clad due to the small drawing temperature contrast between the phosphate and silicate glass. A strong ASE was obtained with central wavelength of 1534 nm.
