Study of iron phase transformation in aluminum alloys of the series 6XXX with short-term annealing

  • Published:
Metal Science and Heat Treatment Aims and scope

Processes of iron phase transformation in low-alloy aluminum alloys of the 6XXX series with short-term homogenizing annealing lasting less than 1 h are studied. Based on estimates of particle shape change the possibility is demonstrated of a significant reduction in homogenizing annealing duration.
