Radiometric macrostress depth distribution measurement in shot-blasting pipeline processing

  • Published:
Measurement Techniques Aims and scope

Abstract

An x-ray method is described for monitoring macroscopic stresses in the shot blasting of defective parts of pipelines. The physical essence of the process is based on theoretical and experimental formulas relating the recorded x-ray fluorescence flux to the parameters used in calculating the macroscopic stresses.
