Abstract
Methods are described for making measurements with electronic tacheometers and scanners that allow one to raise the productivity of labor by a substantial factor while increasing the accuracy in determining the geometrical parameters of the vessels. Formulas are given for estimating the geometrical parameters from the coordinates of points on the tank walls, and also estimates of the accuracy obtained by least-squares fitting.
