Production of Porous Materials with the Use of Energy-Saving Technologies

  • Published:
Materials Science Aims and scope

It is shown that the proposed porous material based on the wastes of metalworking can be used for the regeneration of technical liquids and oils. The prime cost of production of the filters based on the use of wastes [powder of BBS15 (ShKh15) steel] by the method of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis is 2–3 times lower than for the filters produced according to the standard technology. The creation of filters made of relatively low-cost and available raw materials with guaranteeing the entire complex of properties and characteristics required for their long-term and high-quality operation makes them competitive under the conditions of market economy.
