Diffuse scattering of superionic phase of CuAgSe

Summary

The diffuse scattering pattern of high temperature phase of CuAgSe was investigated by X-ray powder diffraction measurements at 523 K. The wide and strong peak of diffuse scattering appeared around 20~35°. There were two contributions to the oscillatory diffuse scattering, one was the short range order of cations. The other was the correlation between thermal displacements of anion-cation and cation-cation pairs. The theoretical treatments of the diffuse scattering including the correlations among the thermal displacements of atoms were described.
