It is indeed an honor for me to have been asked to succeed David Leeming as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Religion and Health. David has provided exceptional leadership for the Journal and I am certain that his editorial presence in these pages will be greatly missed. We say goodbye to him with a deep sense of gratitude for his good work in helping to make the Journal of Religion and Health the distinguished scholarly journal it has become under the creative care, not only of David, but also of Harry Meserve (who was Editor-in-Chief when I published my first article in the Journal) and Ann and Barry Ulanov (both of whom made substantial contributions to my development as a person and writer), who preceded David as Editors-in-Chiefs. Clearly, I stand in a continuing and growing tradition of creative leadership on behalf of the Journal and I am committed to enhance that tradition as we move into the future.
