ABSTRACT

Hydroquinones \(\uppi\)-bonded to the transition metal fragments Mn(CO) \(_3^+\), Rh(COD)+, and Rh[P(OPh)3] 2 + are readily deprotonated to afford anionic \(\upeta^4\)-quinone complexes that function as organometalloligands by binding to metal ions through the quinone oxygen atoms. The resulting supramolecular assemblies display a variety of interesting and potentially useful network topologies.
