The optimum optical penetration depth for high diffraction efficiency in guided acousto-optic devices

Abstract

In guided acousto-optic interaction, diffraction efficiency is a strong function of the overlap integral. Overlap integral with different optical penetration depth is analyzed theoretically. The optimum penetration depth is obtained for high diffraction efficiency.
