Axisymmetric Waves in Prestressed Incompressible Laminated Composite Materials with Sliding Layers

  • Published:
International Applied Mechanics Aims and scope

A statement and solving technique for the problem of axisymmetric wave propagation in an incompressible laminated composite material with initial stresses are considered in the framework of the three-dimensional linearized theory of elasticity for prestressed solids. The case of wave propagation along the layers is considered. The dispersion equation for quasi-longitudinal waves as well as the long-wave approximation for it are derived for both perfectly bonded and sliding contact of the layers. Numerical analysis is carried out for dispersion equations of elastic material that are described by a Treloar-type potential. The effect of initial stresses is studied for axisymmetric harmonic waves.
