Increasing the operational reliability of boilers with high-ash fuel

The combined efforts of scientists, designers, technologists, and operating personnel have led to the development and realization in a short time of a low-cost technical solution for increasing the operational reliability of burners using high-ash coal at a 300 MW power generating unit. A first test of boiler operation following a major overhaul confirms the enhanced operational characteristics of the modified burners.
