Nowadays in today’s world

Foreign Land

Ah, the perfect: no need to further explain.

It speaks for itself even in its alley ways

Returns to us from slavery. The chain

Dragged audibly, simply says what it says.

It is dark because it will be light soon

Light because the need for light is there

In the empty sky: it all starts at noon

Into its dotage, wearing underwear.

Whatever happened happened. It’s too late.

The wolf delivers papers no one reads.

The lion’s taking tickets at the gate.

And everyone has learned to mispronounce

Another language in a foreign land

Where they’ve announcements to announce.
