A printing error has occurred in the article entitled “A Multicenter, Randomized, Double-Blind, 8-Week Comparative Trial of Standard Doses of Esomeprazole (40 mg) and Omeprazole (20 mg) for the Treatment of Erosive Esophagitis” by Schmitt et al.

The error is in the dosage amount for esomeprazole that was administered to their patients. The amount should read 40 mg esomeprazole, not 20 mg.

Under the Efficacy heading in the Results section, the last sentence in the first paragraph should read: “Through week 8, the life-table healing estimate was higher for 40 mg esomeprazole (92.2%) than for 20 mg omeprazole (89.9%); however, the difference between treatment groups was not significant (Table 2).”
