Unusual Meroterpenoids from Leaves of Psidium guajava

Guavadial, a new meroterpenoid isomer of sesquiterpenoid-diphenylmethane, along with two knownmeroterpenoids, guajadial and psidial A, was isolated from the leaves of Psidium guajava (guava). Its structure with absolute configuraton was elucidated by spectroscopic data, CD experimentation, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction.
