Convenient synthetic method for 6-substituted derivatives of 4-methylumbelliferone

New 6-pyrazolyl-, isoxazolyl-, and pyrimidinylumbelliferones were synthesized from an analog of natural 6-acetyl-7-hydroxy-4-methylumbelliferone.
