Study of regioselectivity in cyanomethylation of 4-(trifluoromethyl)pyrimidin-2(1Н)-ones

Cyanoacetic acid reacted selectively with 4-(trifluoromethyl)pyrimidin-2(1Н)-ones with the formation of Michael addition–decarboxylation products in DMSO solution at 85°С and Mannich reaction products when the reagents were fused together under solventfree conditions.
