Method for determining the electrical conductivity of nonmagnetic metals under dynamic loading

  • Published:
Combustion, Explosion, and Shock Waves Aims and scope

Abstract

A noncontact method for determining the electrical conductivity of nonmagnetic metals and alloys under shock-wave loading was developed. The method is based on recording the eddy-current decay rate in a foil of the material studied. The conductivity of aluminum was measured at pressure up to 14 GPa.
