Production of Polyethylene Terephthalate Based Sorbent and its Use for Waste and Surface Water Cleaning from Oil Products

Effective and inexpensive sorbing materials can be manufactured from secondary (recycled) polymers, which will help solve problems of water cleaning and waste recycling. A technology of sorbing material manufacture from polyethylene terephthalate wastes for waste and surface water cleaning is described, and the physicochemical properties of the sorbent and the efficiency of water cleaning from oil products are studied.
