Combination packing for catalytic reactors

  • Published:
Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Aims and scope

The concept of catalytic reactors with a combined regular-filled packing is discussed. Moreover, it is proposed that bundles formed from a film type of vertical corrugated elements be used as a regular packing for tower equipment, and modernized spiral elements be used as a filler. Here, the elements of the filled packing also provide for smoothing of the distribution of liquid phase in the cross section of the reactor.
