Ways of reducing the irrecoverable losses of oil from compressor oiling systems in Ural-series gas pumping plant

  • Published:
Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Aims and scope

Abstract

Importance attaches to the irrecoverable loss of oil in gas-turbine plant oiling systems and compressors in gas pumping plant (GPP) as regards the evaluation of working costs. Results are given from working tests on Ural-series GPP to determine the irrecoverable oil losses in the oiling systems for various types of compressor. It has been found that eliminating the oil mist in the handling systems of compressors is possible by the use of static and dynamic oil traps. Various forms of oil trap are considered, including their characteristics.
