Hereditary ovarian cancers and rare malignant ovarian tumors

Abstract

This development of the current knowledge allows individualizing some rare malignant ovarian tumors and specifying the indications of oncogenetics consultation for the clinicians. Contrary to the classic ovarian cancers arising at a young age evoking a BRCA mutation, the discovery of a rare ovarian tumor at a young age does not evoke necessarily a genetic origin and mostly without relationship with the BRCA genes.
