Sehnenverletzungen an der unteren Extremität

Tendon injuries of the lower limbs

  • Standards in der Unfallchirurgie

Zusammenfassung

Hintergrund

Abstract

Background

The most important tendons of the lower limbs are the Achilles tendon, the quadriceps and patellar tendons. Deficits lead to severe restraints of movement.

Objective

This article provides an overview of the clinical picture of tendon ruptures and the possible treatment options.

Material and methods

A literature search was carried out in PubMed.

Conclusion

Fluoroquinolones increase the general risk of tendon ruptures. The conservative treatment of Achilles tendon ruptures is accompanied by a higher risk of rerupture. Acute Achilles tendon ruptures can be directly sutured but chronic ruptures commonly need an elongation plasty. The rare ruptures of the quadriceps and patellar tendons require surgery. Principally, an augmentation is mostly necessary.
