Abstract
Stress in everyday life can act as a strain, even when it does not lead to a pathological manifestation. Adolescents and young adults are particularly affected by a variety of triggers concerning stress, which are analysed in detail in the present article. Two focus groups of young adolescents, who were analysed via qualitative content analysis according to Mayring, served as the basis for the article. In particular, stress caused by obligations, stress caused by fellow human beings, and stress caused by existential worries have been clarified to cause strain among adolescents. Determining the influence of these stress triggers is crucial to understanding the everyday life of young people and being able to perform preventive intervention measures.
