Should we assess repeatability of PET quantitative uptake measurements of each 18F-labelled tracer?

Investigating the repeatability of PET tracer uptake metrics is of the utmost importance for assessing treatment response in solid tumours. In a multicentre study involving four cohorts (total 30 patients and 52 lesions), Kramer et al. re-analysed all available 18F-FLT data obtained from test–retest acquisitions using similar settings to determine the repeatability of several quantitative 18F-FLT tumour uptake metrics . They concluded that repeatability of 18F-FLT uptake in solid tumours is comparable to that of 18F-FDG. This conclusion raises the issue of the differences in repeatability of quantitative PET/CT tracer uptake metrics among different 18F-labelled tracers.
