The Editorial Board of Pediatric Radiology works diligently to help guide the content and direction of the journal. Individuals are invited to serve on the journal’s Editorial Board because of their expertise and experience in subject matter, their established record of excellence, their availability and reliability in reviewing manuscripts, and in recognition of other contributions to the journal. We would like to sincerely thank the members of the Editorial Board for their contribution to the success of our journal. The Editorial Board of Pediatric Radiology is listed in the front matter of each issue of the journal.

Editorial board membership is not honorary. The Editorial Board of Pediatric Radiology is a working editorial board. Editorial Board members do a greater number of reviews, and these they provide on papers that are challenging, controversial or obscure in nature. In addition to reviews, members of the Editorial Board contribute as subject matter experts. Editorial Board members assist the editors as consultants and by identifying new reviewers to add to our team. Editorial Board members are occasionally asked to contribute commentaries on important and controversial articles. Editorial Board members are asked to contribute to the journal in the form of review articles, minisymposia or other special projects at least once every 3–5 years. These contributions undergo the standard review process.

This year there are several changes to the categories of the Editorial Board. The category of “Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging” has been added to provide focus in this area of pediatric imaging. The category of “Technology” has been changed to “Physics and Radiation Dose” to better describe its focus. The category of “Health Services Research” has been changed to “Health Services/Radiology Practice” to account for a wider spectrum of non-imaging topics and to address not just health services research but also how we practice pediatric radiology. The category of “Genetics — Molecular Imaging” has been simplified to “Genetics.”

Our copy editors, Leah Maurer and Michele Suida-Jacques, do excellent work. Their efforts are integral to our efforts. Every manuscript is reviewed by the copy editors at two junctures — after final acceptance and again in the galley proof stage. The work of the copy editors helps to ensure that all manuscripts are free of error, properly formatted and relatively homogeneous in style. Similarly, our photography editor, Amanda Oberlee-Clouse, is invaluable in helping to optimize the images that appear in each article. Amanda does this task with the assistance of our former editor (and honorary editor), Dr. Tom Slovis, who volunteers his time. In recognition of their important contributions, we now list the copy editors and photography editor in the front matter of each issue of the journal.

The composition of the Editorial Board of Pediatric Radiology is re-evaluated and updated yearly. The new board takes effect with the January issue of each volume (year). Service is not term-limited.

The editorial team is extremely grateful to our Editorial Board members for their important contributions to the journal. Success of the journal is dependent on the expertise, guidance and contributions of the community of experts in pediatric imaging and related subjects.
