Zusammenfassung

Der 9 Monate alte weibliche Säugling wurde nach massivem Schütteln über den Notarzt in der Notaufnahme vorgestellt. Die radiologische Untersuchung ergab neben intrakraniellen Blutungen den Nachweis einer Subarachnoidalblutung (SAB) im Spinalkanal. Bereits bei der körperlichen Untersuchung fielen Hämatome im Gesicht und am Rumpf auf. Das Kind verstarb 4 Tage später infolge eines traumatisch bedingten Hirnödems. Bei der Obduktion stellte sich eine ungewöhnliche Kombination von schweren Veränderungen dar, bestehend aus intrakraniellen, spinalen Blutungen und Simon-Blutungen unter dem vorderen Längsband der Halswirbelsäule dar.

Abstract

A 9-month-old female infant was presented to the emergency department of a hospital by an emergency physician after being severely shaken. Besides intracranial bleeding the radiological examination revealed a subarachnoid hemorrhage in the spinal canal. Hematomas on the face and the upper torso were obvious even during the physical examination. The infant died 4 days later as the result of brain edema caused by physical trauma. The forensic autopsy revealed an unusually severe combination of intracranial and spinal hemorrhages as well as Simon’s bleedings under the anterior longitudinal ligament of the cervical spine.
