Zusammenfassung
Skizziert werden die historische Entwicklung der HIV-bedingten Erkrankung Aids seit der Identifizierung des HI-Virus und die epidemiologische Lage in kulturell wie sozioökonomisch unterschiedlichen Regionen der Welt. Ferner werden Entwicklung und Forschung in den Bereichen Prävention, Minimierung des Transmissionsrisikos und Therapie unter besonderer Berücksichtigung gynäkologisch-geburtshilflicher Aspekte dargestellt.
Abstract
The historical development of the HIV-associated disease AIDS since identification of the virus and the epidemiologic situation in different cultural and socioeconomic regions of the world is presented. Furthermore, developments and research pertaining to prevention, minimization of the transmission risk, and treatment are presented, with a special focus on gynecologic and obstetric aspects.
