Zusammenfassung

Wir berichten über einen 4 Monate alten Säugling, bei dem aufgrund eines ausgeprägten Hämangioms im Bereich des linken Labium majus eine systemische Behandlung im „Off-Label-Use“ mit Propranolol über einen Zeitraum von 5 1/2 Monaten erfolgte. Bereits nach wenigen Wochen kam es zu einer deutlichen Größenreduktion und zum Abblassen des Hämangioms, schließlich zu einer nahezu vollständigen Regression. Dieses Ergebnis reiht sich in eine Vielzahl von kürzlich publizierten Fallberichten ein, die Propranolol als erfolgreiche systemische Therapieoption zur Behandlung problematischer Hämangiome darstellen.

Abstract

We report on an infant, aged four months, suffering from a severe hemangioma of the left labium majus. We induced systemic treatment with propranolol in off-label-use over a period of 5 1/2 months. A few weeks after onset of the treatment, the size and color of hemangioma was obviously reduced; finally there was an almost complete regression. This result underlines the role of propranolol in treatment of problematic hemangioma.
