Zusammenfassung
Ein 62-jähriger Patient entwickelte vor dem Hintergrund einer über 9 Jahre mit Hydroxyurea behandelten myeloproliferativen Erkrankung multiple kutane Neoplasien. Hydroxyurea ist ein Harnstoffderivat, wirkt als DNA-Synthesehemmer und wird als Zytostatikum u. a. zur Therapie der chronisch-myeloischen Leukämie eingesetzt. Die wichtigste Nebenwirkung ist eine dosisabhängige Knochenmarksdepression. Eine vermehrte Entstehung von malignen Tumoren unter Therapie wurde in mehreren Fällen berichtet. Der hier präsentierte Fall mit zahlreichen verschiedenen Tumoren der Haut unterstreicht das potenzielle Risiko, das von einer Therapie mit Hydroxyurea ausgeht, und die Bedeutung regelmäßiger dermatologischer Kontrollen entsprechender Patienten.
Abstract
A 62-year-old patient treated for 9 years with hydroxyurea for chronic myeloproliferative disease developed multiple cutaneous neoplasms. Hydroxyurea minimizes DNA synthesis via inhibition of the enzyme ribonucleotide reductase and is used to treat hematological malignancies. The most important and severe side-effect is a dose-dependent myelodepression. An association with multiple skin tumors has been reported. The presented case emphasizes this potential risk of hydroxyurea therapy. Continuous dermatologic monitoring of patients treated with hydroxyurea is recommended.
