Fehlende Re-Adaptation als Grundlage von chronifizierendem Schwindel

Wenn der Schwindel die Akutphase überdauert

Vestibuläre Krisen sind für die Betroffenen ein beängstigendes Ereignis und für den HNO-Arzt eine Herausforderung. Bei Erkrankungen peripherer Genese kann dem Patienten zwar vermittelt werden, dass eine komplette oder zumindest weitgehende Habituation möglich ist. Dennoch kann der Schwindel manchmal das akute Ereignis überdauern. Ein möglicher Grund: die nicht gelingende „Re-Adaptation“ auf die — in der Akutphase — sinnvolle Hemmung des vestibulären Systems.
