A case of upper airway obstruction in an infant due to congenital hypothyroidism

Abstract

This report describes a newborn with congenital hypothyroidism who presented with thyroidomegaly and upper airway obstruction. Technetium scintigraphy and an esophagram were performed. A review of the disease process with emphasis of the imaging diagnosis is provided.
