Summary.
Platinum and palladium dichlorides react readily with 2,2′-azoquinoxaline to give the di-μ-chloro-2,2′-azobis-(7,7′-bis-benzoyl-quinoxaline) diplatinum(II) and dipalladium(II) complexes. These crystalline complexes exhibit both metal-carbon binding and coordinate metal-nitrogene binding to azoquinoxaline.
