Abstract

The author responds to two articles previously published in the Journal of Poetry Therapy: 1) DeMaria (1991) on poetry and child abuse, and 2) Rosenthal on the haiku psychotherapist. The analysis indicates two complementary articles wherein one focuses on imagery and the other on poetic form. Art expression with respect to the element of choice of medium is discussed. Implications for the process and outcome of therapy are noted.
