Abstract

This article contains a summary of a bibliotherapy approach that has been used in the Vilnius Republic Psychiatric Hospital in the Soviet Union for over two decades. Prescribed reading of fiction and nonfiction is used for diagnostic and treatment purposes. General and specific healing factors are utilized.
